The Dead Forest

Ash underfoot, bone grey trees overhead, and a silence that is not quite empty. Five kinds of dead tree stand over fallen logs, dry brush and pale mushrooms.

This is where the Scarecrow teaches Learn the basics. Its sap is for practice: the lesson's gather and craft bank nothing, and a bonded soul cannot harvest here.

Characters from before the rework who never finished the old prologue still start here, find their companion past one of the four exits, and cross into the shared world.

North of the Hollow lies the elite Dead Forest, with burrowers and wolves. See The creatures.
