# What Is Gluniverse

Gluniverse is a **play to earn MMO**, built by the $GLUE team, and it is **live now** in [open alpha](/gluebook/gluniverse-enter). It is the world the track was always the door to. The world keeps running when you close the tab. The souls you meet in it are real people.

## Horse or human

You choose how you wake: as a **horse** or as a **human**. Your companion is always the **other kind**. Wake as a horse and your companion is a human. Wake as a human and your companion is a horse. Once you find them, they follow you everywhere.

Choose with care. Once you step into the world, your form is yours for good.

## The world

You wake in the **Dead Forest**, four wild zones ring its edges, and the town of **Glueburg** holds the shop, the pub, the **Bank** and the **Gloo Exchange**, the real player market. The world has [a map of its own](/gluebook/gluniverse-map), and the Exchange gets a page of its own: [The Economy](/gluebook/gluniverse-economy).

## What is in it today

All of this is live and playable right now:

- A world of bounded resources you [gather](/gluebook/gluniverse-gathering) and [craft](/gluebook/gluniverse-crafting), with [gear that rolls rarity](/gluebook/gluniverse-gear) and a [kiln](/gluebook/gluniverse-kiln) that fuses it higher.
- [Land you claim and a stable you build](/gluebook/gluniverse-the-field), brick by brick, then ride from, with [a room inside it](/gluebook/gluniverse-stable-interior) and [bricks to feed it](/gluebook/gluniverse-stable-upkeep) every day.
- A [tent](/gluebook/gluniverse-tent) you can carry and pitch, for the souls who do not own ground yet.
- Real [fighting](/gluebook/gluniverse-fighting) in the wild, with real [stakes](/gluebook/gluniverse-husk), and an [Arena](/gluebook/gluniverse-arena) where souls fight each other for staked pots.
- [Quests](/gluebook/gluniverse-quests) that pay XP, and [levels](/gluebook/gluniverse-levels) that unlock the world.
- A [live player market](/gluebook/gluniverse-economy) with an order book and charts, and a [racebook](/gluebook/gluniverse-racebook) in the pub that takes gloo bets on the real track.
- The **Bank** in town, where gloo swaps to and from **SOL** and part of every swap buys and burns [$GLUE](/gluebook/gluniverse-economy).
- A [Casino](/gluebook/gluniverse-casino), a [race track](/gluebook/gluniverse-races) of your own and a [daily lottery](/gluebook/gluniverse-magic-tree), for when you feel lucky or fast.
- [Looks that drop](/gluebook/gluniverse-cosmetics) in the wild and resell player to player, and [boards](/gluebook/gluniverse-leaderboards) that keep score on all of it.
- And out past the eastern waterline, for souls who reach level 16, [an ocean that is not on any map](/gluebook/gluniverse-ocean).

## It keeps growing
