# Furniture

Six things you can make and stand inside [your stable room](/gluebook/gluniverse-stable-interior). They are the first items in the world whose only job is to be somewhere.

## The set

All six come off the **workshop** bench in the Foal Pen.

| Piece | Recipe |
|---|---|
| **Stable Stool** | 8 scrap |
| **Straw Rug** | 6 scrap + 8 straw + 2 hide |
| **Sap Lamp** | 12 scrap + 2 sap |
| **Stable Table** | 16 scrap |
| **Tack Shelf** | 20 scrap |
| **Trophy Rack** | 30 scrap + 2 bone |

Scrap is the point. Furniture is a **repeating scrap sink**, a use for the material a working player ends up with most of. None of it rolls a rarity, so all six trade on the [Exchange](/gluebook/gluniverse-economy) like bricks do.

## Placing it

Carry a piece into your own room and place it on the floor. One piece per tile, never on the tile you walk in on, and never on a wall. How many the room holds depends on the plot: **8 pieces on a 6x6, 12 on an 8x8, 16 on a 10x10, 22 on a 12x12**.

Pick a piece back up and it returns to your bag.

## What it does

Nothing to your numbers. No stats, no perks, no storage. Furniture is decoration, and that is the whole of it.

What it costs the world is real, though. Every piece burns its scrap for good, so a furnished room is scrap that left the economy. See [Scarcity and the Cap](/gluebook/gluniverse-scarcity).
