# The Bank

The **Gloo Bank** in [Glueburg](/gluebook/gluniverse-glueburg) is where the world's currency meets real money. Bring **SOL** and walk out with gloo. Cash gloo back out and it pays **SOL** to your wallet. This is real money moving on chain, so treat it like it.

## Where it is

The pale bank building on the town square. Walk to its door, press **E**, and the teller opens with a live quote and a deposit address.

## Buying gloo

Send **SOL** to the address the teller gives you, and gloo lands on your character in game. Buying gloo is **uncapped**: bring as much or as little as you like.

A deposit does one other thing. Once your deposits add up to **1 SOL**, the [trading licence](/gluebook/gluniverse-trading-licence) opens for you without the quest chain, on the Exchange, at Sticky Situations and at the vendor floor alike. It is counted in SOL rather than gloo so the bar does not move when the token does, and it is counted for the lifetime of the wallet: cash it all back out the same afternoon and the door stays open. It is the other door to the same room, not a shortcut anybody needs.

## Cashing out

Cash gloo out and the Bank pays **SOL** back to your wallet. Cash outs are **capped at 10 SOL per wallet per day**, and the smallest one is **0.001 SOL**. A cash out that does not settle refunds itself after **10 minutes**.

## The fee, and the burn

Every swap, both directions, carries a **5% fee**, and it splits in half:

- **2.5%** funds the town treasury.
- **2.5%** buys **$GLUE** on the open market and **burns it**, the same buy and burn the [track](/gluebook/glue-token) runs.

So every time someone uses the Bank, $GLUE supply goes down a little.

## The reserve rule

The Bank pays cash outs only from a **reserve** that buy ins fund. It can never pay out more than came in. Gloo you earned by playing is real in world money, but it can only leave for SOL against reserve that someone's deposit put there. If nobody ever buys in, nothing can ever be cashed out, and the treasury's worst case is exactly zero.

## The peg

Gloo is priced off **$GLUE**: **10 gloo is 1 $GLUE**. The live $GLUE price sets the dollar reading you see on every surface in the world, and it refreshes on its own. See [The Economy](/gluebook/gluniverse-economy).

## The honest note

This is an early alpha and the Bank moves real money on chain. At alpha scale the amounts are small, and that is on purpose. Never put in more than you can lose.
